暂无简介Plot Summary:The opening scene shows the Professor Champeaux, archaeologist, in charge of the excavations to be performed at Carthage. In an endeavor to locate the lost treasure of Eschmoun. One of the professor's secretaries conceives a plan for stealing the treasure. He therefore bribes one of the Arab servants, who at night steals into the study of the old archaeologist and robs him of the plans of the ruins. As soon as the plans are delivered into the hands of the base secretary he hides them in the \"Tomb of the High Priestess\" and sets to work to eliminate any shade of suspicion that might attach itself to him. A short while after the professor misses the papers, and, becoming frightened, the Arab servant confesses, denouncing the false secretary. The Arab then conducts the archaeologist and a party of detectives to the spot where the thief is in hiding. Meanwhile the secretary, having discovered the treasure, has laid plans for escape, and is about to make his departure. After considerable difficulty the thief is captured and the treasure retaken, and just punishment is meted out to the offender.
